Water

In the course of deregulation and liberalisation in other network industries the water and sewerage sector increasingly becomes a subject of discussion. On the basis of theoretical concepts, empirical findings and international experiences within and outside the water and sewerage sector we analyse the different competition concepts. In order to safeguard quality in our concepts we engage in various forms of quality regulation.

Besides these issues we apply concepts which are already used successfully in other network industries to the water and sewerage sector. We are specialised in analysing, developing and assessing tariff and pricing models for water and sewerage companies.

We use our specific cost accounting and cost modelling knowledge to support companies in their strategic decisions. We have been regularly evaluating the content quality of websites of water and sanitation utilities. Last but not least we advise public institutions in developing and transition countries on setting up or enhancing their regulatory water and sewerage regimes. In 2009 alone we conducted consultancy projects in Albania, Kenia and Yemen.

Our activities in the water and sewerage sector are organised as part of the department Markets and Perspectives
