Workshop on Digital Comparison Tools (DCTs)

What is the role of DCTs in the Digital Single Market?

26th April 2018 in Brüssel

Digital Comparison Tools (DCTs) have been gaining importance in digital markets in Europe and beyond. Next to CMA, the Bundeskartellamt have commenced their inquiry into DCTs. Other Member States have either looked at DCTs’ role in specific sectors (e.g. vehicle insurance) or may likely do so in the near future.

However, the role of DCTs in the European Digital Single Market, their actual influence on consumers and impact on the economy are rarely discussed holistically. Together with CEPS – Centre for European Policy Studies – we did exactly that at a workshop in Brussels.
